Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and DinnerSwipe ("we", "us") covering the DinnerSwipe mobile app and website. By using DinnerSwipe, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

1. What DinnerSwipe is

DinnerSwipe helps two people agree on a restaurant by swiping independently until they both like the same one. It then hands you off to a maps app for directions, or to a search for delivery.

We are a suggestion tool, not a booking or ordering service. We do not take reservations, process orders, deliver food, or act as an agent for any restaurant.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use DinnerSwipe. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use it with a parent or guardian's involvement.

3. Accounts

You do not need an account. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Tell us atsupport@dinner-swipe.app if you believe it has been compromised.

During the beta, email addresses are not verified. See the beta note in ourPrivacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use DinnerSwipe for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to guess, enumerate, or brute-force room codes, or join sessions you were not invited to.
  • Attempt to discover another participant's swipes or location.
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of the service, or bypass its access controls.
  • Scrape, resell, or redistribute restaurant data obtained through DinnerSwipe.
  • Use automated systems to create sessions or generate load beyond normal personal use.
  • Interfere with the service or with anyone else's use of it.

5. Restaurant information

Restaurant details — names, ratings, price levels, opening hours, photos, and locations — come from third-party providers including Yelp, Google Places, Foursquare, and OpenStreetMap. We do not create or verify this information.

It may be out of date, incomplete, or wrong. Opening hours in particular change without notice. Confirm with the restaurant before you travel or place an order. We are not responsible for your experience at any restaurant we show you.

Where a delivery option is offered, it is a search for the restaurant on a delivery platform. We do not know whether that restaurant delivers to you, whether it is available, or what it will cost. Anything you order is a transaction between you, the delivery platform, and the restaurant.

6. Sessions expire

Sessions are deliberately short-lived, and anonymous session data is deleted on the schedule set out in our Privacy Policy. Do not rely on DinnerSwipe to store anything you need to keep.

7. Ads and paid features

The mobile app is supported by advertising. We may offer a paid ad-free upgrade; if we do, purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and their refund policies apply.

8. Our intellectual property

The DinnerSwipe name, software, and design are ours. These terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for your own non-commercial purposes. Restaurant content remains the property of its respective providers and is subject to their terms.

9. Availability

DinnerSwipe is provided as-is. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. This is a beta service.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DinnerSwipe is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of information.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your dealings with a restaurant, a delivery platform, or another participant. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months, or ten US dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

11. Ending your use

You may stop using DinnerSwipe at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailingprivacy@dinner-swipe.app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use DinnerSwipe after a change means you accept the updated terms.
